GEORGETOWN, Texas -- Hardin-Simmons' men's golf team is in fourth place after two rounds of the West Region Invitational that is being played at the par-72, 6,600-yard Berry Creek Country Club in Georgetown.
Tyler Mileger led the field after shooting a one-under 71 in the first round but shot 84 in the second round and is in a tie for ninth place with a 155 total. He is tied with teammate Ryan Hughes, who shot 77-78.
Mike Hursh shot rounds of 84 and a career-low 76 for a 160 total. Brandon Heard shot 83-80-163 and Sean Aleman shot 84-82-166.
Schreiner leads the tournament after shooting rounds of 305 and 298. The 603 total is nine strokes better than Trinity, 12 shots better than third-place Southwestern and 28 strokes ahead of the Cowboys.
Tyler Lehman of Trinity shot 72-74-146 to take the medalist lead.
The tournament will conclude with 18 holes on Tuesday.
