Dorrel excited to get Wildcats on the field

July 31, 2017 - Monday was the final day of the ACU Wildcats Caravan where ACU coaches and Athletic Director Lee De Leon use this event to meet the fans and donors and to talk up the programs.

New head football coach Adam Dorrel was there. He and his team are just three days from starting practice for the 2017 season.

It's his first at ACU, and Dorrel is really excited to get his guys on the field.

"We're really excited. If you think about where we've come in January when we all got here as coaches and players, a lot of emotion in there, a lot of feeling," Dorrel said. "It hasn't always been easy so, from a coaches standpoint, it's a year round job just like any college coach, but this by far is the most fun time of the year when we all get to get back with the players and do the X's and O's and all the fun parts of the game, so it's very exciting."

The Wildcats open practice Thursday morning.

They will be on the Anthony Field turf starting at 9:30.
