The Bangs Dragons survived a scare in the 1st round of the playoffs to win the Bi-district championship, and this week they are looking for their 2nd straight Area championship.

Friday night's game will be another tough one for head coach Chuck Lipsey's team. Denver City is unbeaten, but quarterback J.T. Newton says the Dragons are playing well heading into this week's game.

He said, "The 1st half of the year we just kind of struggled. It's a new team. We had 23 seniors graduate last year. We're finally starting to come along. We're starting to play really good. I think we'll be good in the playoffs."

Head coach Chuck Lipsey said, "If we can play 4 quarters, put together 4 quarters of offense and defense and make key plays on special teams, we'll have a chance to beat'em. The kids are excited. They're excited about the challenge, but  to beat a good football team, you've got to play well for 4 quarters. That's our goal this week."

The Dragons and Denver City play tomorrow night in Sweetwater. They will get it started at 7:30.
