The Hawley Lady Bearcats season came to and end on Wednesday down in Austin after losing to East Bernard, 7-0.

East Bernard pitcher Samantha Show was the story in this one. The reigning Gatorade Softball Player of the Year for the state of Texas struck out 15 Lady Bearcats, gave up just 1 hit, and didn't walk anyone.

Head coach Amber Cottingham said, "Show is a dominant player, but we did our best against her, and I am proud of my team. We had a great year. 35-1 is nothing to be ashamed of, and we made history for Hawley going back back to state. We just didn't hit the ball. Our offense just didn't show up today. Show definitely dominated us. That's just the way it goes sometimes."

The Brahamarettes scored 1 run in the 1st inning and added 3 in the 6th and 3 more in the 7th to secure the victory.

Hawley starter Jordan Anderson went the distance for the Lady Bearcats and struck out 11 hitters.

The loss is the 1st for Hawley this season. They finish the season with a 35-1 record and a game shy of the state championship game for the 2nd year in a row.
