The Abilene High Eagles are close to the midway point of district play this season, and have yet to lose a district game.

This is a quick turnaround from last years campaign.

The Eagles hope it leads to a spot playoff spot, and credit their district success to the chemistry throughout the team.

Coach Ryan Lewis said "We've started out pretty good. We've had our games where we've struggled, but we've always found a way so far come back and win it."

Payton Coffman said "We know we can pitch a little bit and we know we can play good defense. It's just a mater of doing it, and we know we can get timely hits and we've done that so far."

Alex Beckham said "We started out really strong. Just as a team we felt really confident going into in. We may have had a couple of rough patches in the tournament but we feel really confident. We've played with each other for years going through little league, and we have a really good team chemistry and it's just kind of rolled with us."

The Eagles are on the road this weekend when they travel to San Angelo to take on Central High School on Saturday.
