The Goldthwaite Eagles are this week's big winners in the Harris Ratings as they soared into the top ten in their classification.

No schools in District 2-5A find themselves in the top 25 this week, but the Cooper Cougars are now on the bubble after last week's win over Midland High. Previously ranked San Angelo Central fell from the top 25 after losing to Amaraillo Tascosa on Friday night.

The first Big Country schools in the top 25 are in Class 2A Div. I, and the Eastland Mavericks once again find themselves on top at number six. That's three spots higher than a week ago after the Mavericks knocked off Breckenridge.

The Comanche Indians remain in the top 25 at number 23 this week after a 61-14 win over Dublin on Friday night.

Cisco is once again the highest ranked Big Country team, and come in at number two in Class 2A Div. II. The Loboes defeated Hawley 64-12 in their district opener last week.

In Class 1A Div. I, the Stamford Bulldogs once again are the highest ranked team from the Big Country at number three, but not far behind is district rival Anson at number five.

The Goldthwaite Eagles enter the top ten at number nine in Class 1A Div. I this week after winning their third straight game on Friday night over Hico. The Eagles jumped a total of six spots from their previous ranking of 15 a week ago.

Two teams find themselves ranked this week in Class 1A Div. II, and once again the Albany Lions are the highest ranked at number seven. Hamlin dropped slightly to number 21 despite their 41-7 win over Baird on Friday night.
