The Eastland Mavericks made the biggest jump of any of the nine Big Country Schools ranked in this week's Harris Ratings.

Eastland started the year ranked 22nd in Class 2A division one, but this week enter the top five for the first time at number four. That's thanks in part to a 76-64 win over Grandview on Friday night.

In division two, the Cisco Loboes remain in the top five at number three with a road win over the Comanche Indians. The Loboes have been ranked in the top ten for the entire season.

Meanwhile in Class 3A, the Wylie Bulldogs stay in the Top 25 this week after a loss to Top 10 Graham a week ago.

The majority of the Big Country teams ranked by Harris Ratings this week are in Class 1A. Two of them are inside the top five in division one. The Stamford Bulldogs climb to number two this week after a win over Merkel in the Badgers' Den Friday night. The Anson Tigers come in at number five after a 61-33 win over the Jim Ned Indians.

Goldthwaite remains in the Top 25 despite a 0-3 start at number 17 this week. That's partially due to a difficult non-district schedule that features numerous ranked opponents.

The Albany Lions hold strong this week at number five in division two this week after a win over Munday. The Moguls continue to fall in the poll and this week come in at number 18.

Hamlin moves up this week to number 14 after a win over Hawley on Friday night at Piper Stadium.
