The Eastland Mavericks are moving on after their third round win over Bangs on Monday night in Brownwood.

Bangs jumped out to an early lead field goal, but the Mavericks would quickly respond with a touchdown to take a 7-3 lead.

A long pass from quarterback Josh Moylan to Mason Thayer would get the Mavericks offense moving. Then a touchdown run by Moylan would extend the Maverick lead to 14-3.

Bangs would try and answer on their next drive with a long pass on third and thirty from J.T. Newton to Josh Truelove for a first down. The Eastland defense would stop the Dragons momentum shortly after that.

The Mavericks would quickly respond with another long pass by Moylan, but this time it would be a touchdown to J.D. Coffee to extend the Eastland lead to 21-3 in the second quarter.

They would go on from there to win by the count of 49-23, and set up a match-up with second ranked Wall next Saturday night in Brownwood at 6 p.m.
