Eight Teams Ranked by Softball Coaches, Brownwood and Santa Anna Make Debuts

The Big Country continues to add teams to the softball coaches polls this week with Brownwood and Santa Anna making their debuts.

The Hawley Lady Bearcats are once again the highest ranked team from the Big Country at number two in Class 2A. The Lady Cats knocked off now 15th ranked Clyde Lady Bulldogs on Friday to remain undefeated.

In Class 3A, the Snyder Lady Tigers once again find themselves in the top ten after a pair of run-rule victories over Greenwood and Sweetwater. Not far behind them is one of the newest editions from the Big Country, the Brownwood Lady Lions. This week the Lady Lions come in at number 22 in their first week ranked by the coaches.

The other half of the eight Big Country teams ranked by the softball coaches this week is in Class 1A. Once again this week the Stamford Lady Bulldogs hold their spot at number three in the state. Meanwhile DeLeon (27) and Haskell (30) both drop slightly in the rankings. The Santa Anna Mountaineers make their debut this week at number 13 after improving their record to 11-3 on the season.
