The Hawley Lady Bearcats jumped out to another fast start on Thursday evening. This time in their area round match-up against Early.

It's nothing new for the Lady Cats to put up crooked numbers in the first inning of a playoff game. So far this post season, they've done exactly that.

On Thursday evening they jumped out to an 8-0 lead before Early could even grab the bats in the bottom of the first inning.

Early would get one run back on an RBI double by Aspen Excamilla to cut the Hawley lead to 8-1.

The Lady Bearcats would waste little time getting that run back though. A lead-off home run by Kiki Anderson would push Hawley's back to eight in the top of the second.

They would add to that in the third inning when Vannessa Rubio grounded out to the short stop, but Cami Croft came home on the throw. She would be safe and extend the Hawley lead to 10-1.

They would pull away from there for a 16-1 victory in game one of the three game series. The Lady Bearcats and Lady Longhorns will meet again on Friday night at ACU's Wells Field.
