The FCA introduced the coaches for this year's All-Star Festival that will for the first time will include baseball and softball.

In all 34 coaches will be in charge of leading the athletes chosen for this year's All-Star Festival in June, and for some this won't be their first experience with FCA.

Colorado City head football coach Dan Gainey was tabbed to lead the North team later this year has had some his boys play in this game. That makes this year's experience unique for a coach that will now be on the field, rather than in the stands, in June. Along with that will be allowing this year's players to enjoy the same experience his own kids enjoyed in the past.

"Certainly football is going to be on our mind, but it's just part of the experience for these kids, and I think just for the fellowship, and the opportunity to just come together and get to know one another is probably more important," said Gainey.

Heading up the South football team will be Brady head coach Andy Howard, who is very familiar with the athletes that make up the Big Country.

"It's going to ba a great week of football and really look forward to it because of the respect I have for all these staff out here in the Big Country, and the type of players we have out here," said Howard.

Along with volleyball and basketball, there will be two new additions this year to the All-Star Festival. That will be baseball and softball.

San Angelo Central baseball coach Patrick Penry will lead the South team in the first All-Star baseball game. In the opposite dugout will be Snyder's Shane Stewart.

Abilene High softball coach Shay Cox was chosen head the North squad, and Eula's Stacy Herring will be the head coach for the South.

"I know they're going to have a wonderful experience. An opportunity to showcase their talent as well as grow as an individual and meet some great people and have a wonderful time in San Angelo," said Cox.
