Five Remaining Big Country Playoff Teams Ranked

A total of six Big Country teams are ranked by Harris this week, with five of them remaining in the postseason.

The Eastland Mavericks continued their rise in Class 2A Div. I this week. They come in at number five this week after their area round victory last Thursday over Littlefield.

Cisco is once again the highest ranked team in the Big Country. The Loboes remain at number two after knocking off Spearman in Lubbock last Friday. They will take on Abernathy this Friday in Snyder.

The bulk of the Big Country teams ranked are once again in Class 1A. In division one, the Stamford Bulldogs come in at number four after pulling away for an area round win over Panhandle on Saturday night in Bowie.

Meanwhile, the Anson Tigers rise one spot to number five despite having their season ended by number two Stratford. The Tigers finish the season with a 10-2 record.

Rounding out the top ten in division one is Goldthwaite. This week the Eagles will look to pick up another playoff win over DeLeon in Brownwood.

The lone Big Country team ranked in division two is Albany. This week the Lions come in at number eight after their shutout victory over McCamey on Saturday afternoon.
