Former Wylie Bulldog Jamie Boyd is headed up to Canyon to play baseball for West Texas A&M after signing his national letter of intent today.

Boyd graduated from Wylie back in 2012 and went to Frank Philips transferred to Howard Payne after getting an eye infection.

He is now headed north, and Boyd is ready to get there.

Jamie Boyd said "I mean it's awesome. Everybody likes the opportunity to continue playing, and for me, who just started pitching it awesome. Getting to work with Coach Sanchez, I mean he knows what he's doing and it's been a fun journey so far."

Scottie Sanchez said "What a special kid. He's had to deal with a great deal of adversity. He goes to Frank Phillips as an outfielder, ends up with a little bit of an injury, loses the year. Still continues to battle, wanted to keep playing and now he get's to go to West Texas A&M and take advantage of this opportunity."

Boyd became a pitcher at Howard Payne and he's been working with former Abilene High coach Scottie Sanchez this off-season.
