HPU's Tylene Middleton Named 1st Team All-Region

BROWNWOOD, Texas - Today Howard Payne shortstop Tylene Middleton was named National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) 1st Team All-West Region.
 
Tylene Middleton followed up being named the ASC West Division Player of the Year and First Team All-West Division with NFCA 1st Team All-West Region honors. Tylene batted .413 with a league-high 11 home runs, 15 doubles and 37 RBIs. She scored 39 times and drew a conference-best 28 walks.
 
This year, Tylene broke the HPU record for homeruns in a season (11) and career (19) and slugging percentage in a season at .810. She also finished in the top 20 in the nation in homeruns.
 
The Division III national championship begins next week in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and NFCA Division III All-Americans will be announced Thursday at the NCAA championship banquet.
