HSU splits doubleheader with Ozarks.

The HSU Cowboys outlasted the University of the Ozarks at home, 69-62.

Joe Hoeup led the Cowboys with 25 points.

The Cowboys used a 15-5 run to expand their lead to 9 points in the first half.

The Ozarks made a push to catch the Cowboys, but HSU managed to hold off the late charge by the Eagles.

The Eagles Zach Bobo led the Ozarks with 16 points, including three 3-pointers.

In the first game of the night, the HSU Cowgirls pushed Ozarks to overtime before falling to the Lady Eagles, 68-63.

Heidi Schroeder led the Cowgirls with a team high 14 points. HSU outscored the Ozarks by six in the final period to force the extra period.

The Lady Eagles Diamond Goodwyn, who scored 19 in the game, delivered six points in the extra five minutes to lead Ozarks to the victory.

HSU travels over to McMurry on Thursday night to take on the War Hawks. The women start at 5:30 p.m., and the men start at 7:30 p.m.
