Hurley stepping up for McMurry

September 20th, 2017 - It's a quarterback day today. McMurry quarterback Kevin Hurley delivered a really good performance for the War Hawks on Saturday.

He threw a pair of touchdown passes against Howard Payne last week, but his touchdown run was what grabbed head coach Lance Hinson's attention.

It looks like the quarterback position is in good hands at McMurry.

Lance Hinson said, "Quarterbacks are taught to read your route progressions and all that stuff, but to make a quick decision like that. To be able to tuck the ball and find your area, and as you can see he can run. Doesn't look like he's going real fast, but he's got those long legs that can cover a whole lot of ground."

Kevin Hurley Jr said, "I feel like things came a lot smoother, and I feel like a lot of that was just preparation before the game, but as far as me, I know what I can do, and I feel like I got a lot more."

The War Hawks are going to be on the road for the third time this season on Saturday. They play Sul Ross in Alpine at 6.
