Indians are enjoying their playoff run

December 5, 2017 - The Comanche Indians are set to continue their historic run in the class 3A playoffs on Friday night at Shotwell Stadium.

The Indians are playing in unchartered territory this year. It's been 64 years and eleven presidents since Comanche played a game in the fourth week of the playoffs.

Coming into the season, most people thought the Indians were going to be good and could make a run like this, but for the players, it's a little surreal.

Trevor Higginbotham said, "If you would have told us when we were little that this would have happened, I would have kind of believed it, but now that it's all here it's just overwhelming, and it's just really great to be a part of this."

Bronte Hermesmeyer said, "12-1, one of the best records to ever come through Comanche high school. We've had a great run, but we're not done."

Stephen Hermesmeyer said, "I mean a lot of excitement in the community, a lot of excitement in the school district with our players you know we're just happy to still be playing football the first of December and we're still out here practicing. It's a great feeling. The kids have worked hard to get to this point and we just want to continue it."

It gets interesting for the Indians on Friday night.

The top ranked Brock Eagles are coming up next. The Eagles are 11-2. Comanche is 12-1.
