Lady Eagles return to playoffs

The Abilene High Lady Eagles are back in the playoffs for the first time since 2015.

It's been an uphill climb for Head Coach Terry Aston and her team, but they closed the season with a victory over Haltom to snap their two-game losing streak and clinched their place in the postseason.

The Lady Eagles now set their eyes on Arlington Bowie.

Maya Taylor said, "I feel like it's an honor and that we deserved it because we've been together for four years straight and ever since middle school, and I think Terri deserved it a lot, just as much."

Terri Aston said, "It's what they've been working for, and we've been preparing for it, so it's good. It's been a tough journey but we're here and we're excited and we're going to take care of business."

Sandrine Tuyizere said, "We've been through thick and thin together so having the opportunity to go to the playoffs, especially with a coach that we enjoy being with everyday, it's an honor and hopefully we'll go far."

The Lady Eagles take on 9th ranked Arlington Bowie on Monday night in Arlington at 6.
