April 16, 2018 - GREENVILLE, S.C. – For the second time during the outdoor season, McMurry University thrower Bethany Everett (Stratford, Texas) has been named as the Field Events “Student-Athlete of the Week” for women’s track and field, by the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA). Everett also won the award on March 26.
Everett also earned the award once during the indoor season on February 5.
On her final throw of the competition at last week’s East Texas Invitational, Everett extended her NCCAA lead in the hammer throw with a toss of 50.52 meters to finish second in the largely NCAA II field.
That effort also tops the American Southwest Conference and NCAA DIII South/Southwest Region, while ranking No. 18 nationally for NCAA DIII.
The Stratford, Texas native also had a distance of 38.89 meters in the discus (placing seventh).
