The last time Cooper and Lamar met was in 2011 at Cowboys Stadium, and it came down to the final play.

Cooper trailed the Vikings, 24-21 with just a few seconds to go in the game when Clayton Nicholas hit Lorenzo Joe from 22 yards out with no time left on the clock for a touchdown. Cooper won the game, 27-24.

It was the game winner and Texas Football Magazine selected it as the Play of the Year for 2011.

Coach Moebes said, "It came to the wire, and really, who had the ball last. They made a play on 4th down to score a touchdown and go up, and you know, we had some time left on the clock and were able to drive the field and make a football play of our own. It ended in our favor, but I look back and remember that game as a great high school football game where kids were well coached, well prepared, and competing their tails off."

The Cougars advanced to play 2 more rounds in the playoffs in 2011 before losing to Mansfield Timberview in the 3rd round.
