So far this season it's been a tough run through Southland Conference play for the ACU Wildcats, but one bright spot for the Wildcats as of late has been the play of guard Parker Wentz.

Early this week the sophomore out of Lubbock led the Wildcats to a victory over Houston Baptist with a career high 27 points

Then yesterday Wentz led ACU once again in scoring with 14 points in a tough loss to Texas A&M Corpus Christi, but regardless of Saturday's outcome, Wentz has been one of the players stepping up for head coach Joe Golding's squad while the team's two top scorers Ledarian Williams and Harrison Hawkins have been sidelined with injuries.

Coach Golding said "He's a winner. He's a tough kid, and we're not winning basketball games right now, but he's a winner and he's exactly what you want in your locker room. He's a tough kid. He player really well. I think he had six assists and three turnovers. They we're obviously keying on him, and they weren't letting him touch the basketball, and it's tough on him to play fourty plus minutes. To get us in our offense, to make big shots, he does a little bit of everything for us."

The Wildcats are back on the road this week as they visit fellow Southland newbie Incarnate Word in San Antonio on Thursday night.
