The Cowboys began practicing in earnest on Monday for their season opener against the New York Giants at AT&T Stadium.

They're still hoping injured starters Anthony Spencer and Ronald Leary will be able to play.

Spencer had his knee scoped the first week of training camp, and missed the entire preseason. He was still missing at practice on Monday. The Cowboys are hoping he's able to practice Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday if he has any hopes of playing.

As for guard Ronald Leary, he had his knee scoped three weeks ago, but was in practice on a limited basis on Monday.

Leary also has to practice the rest of the week in pads if he hopes to playing that season opener.

In the event those guys can't play in the season opener on Sunday, George Selvie would start at left defensive end for the Cowboys. On the offensive line it is still not clear how they would juggle that starting lineup for the Giants.
