Silver Star Nation: Ready for HOF game

August 3rd, 2017 - The Dallas Cowboys are back in the preseason Hall of Fame kickoff game for the first time since 2013. That's when Larry Allen was inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Let's talk about tonight's game. Mickey Spagnola of the Silver Star Nation joins us now. What do we expect to see out of the Cowboys tonight?

Mickey Spagnola said, "Well, I expect to see a lot of young guys. I don't know if any starters will be playing. We'll get to see some of the guys we've been talking about all this time in training camp, but it's just been practice. So, now we get to see Chidobe Awuzie. We'll get to see Xavier Woods. We'll get to see Taco Charlton, and Charles Tapper. Some of those guys that are trying to make their way in the National Football League. That's the benefit for the coaches here. They get to see these guys in a real game instead of a controlled practice."

The Cowboys don't usually put a whole lot of emphasis on preseason games, winning and losing, but with Jerry getting enshrined this week, does it mean a little bit more?

Spagnola said, "It may mean a little more to the veterans that aren't playing, but they spent one walk-through practice using a scout team to prepare the guys, but it was the first teamers getting the second teamers ready. It was pretty funny. So, that kind of tells you the importance on winning and losing. The important thing for the Cowboys; no injuries. Get out of this game without any serious injuries."

Mickey, thank you. It's good to see you again. Coming up tomorrow, we get to hear from Jerry Jones for the first time in Canton.  We'll see you then for the Silver Star Nation report.
