The Cowboys discovered on Monday that middle linebacker Sean Lee will not be able to play in Sunday's game at AT&T Stadium. He sustained ligament damage in his neck when he left the game Monday night against the Bears in the third quarter.
Lee had practiced two days on a limited basis this week, but come Friday he did not practice. The Cowboys were worried about damaging that ligament in his neck.
Taking his place at middle linebacker will be Justin Durant. Playing at the weak side linebacker spot will be Ernie Sims because Bruce Carter will also be out for Sunday's game. Meanwhile, Kyle Wilber will start on the strong side for the Cowboys.
Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett is hoping this ligament problem for Lee will be only for this week, and they're still planning on him being available for the game against the Washington Redskins.
