Stamford's quest to win their second straight state title continues this week in the quarterfinals, and the Bulldogs appear to be playing their best football when it matters most.

Last Friday the Bulldogs put together perhaps their most complete performance of the season in a 42-7 win over Sundown.

"We did a really good job of executing our offense. I thought James [Washington] had a really explosive game at receiver. I though Bo [Wimberly] had a great game at quarterback, both offensively and defensively. Bo had three interceptions [on defense] , and threw for two touchdowns and rushed for three. Our offensive line, I felt they were over looked. I though they had a great game offensively and defensively. That was the difference in the ball game, was how good our offensive and defensive line played," said head coach Wayne Hutchinson.

This week will be a tougher test with third ranked New Deal, who are coming off an upset win over previously second ranked Stratford. That being said, the Bulldogs have faced plenty of tough opponents, dating all the way back to non-district.

"You'd like to think as a coaching staff, and as players, that we did sav a tough preseason schedule. You know, we probably have not seen anybody any tougher than Cisco, and probably won't see anybody tougher than Cisco the whole year. I think that was a great learning experience for us. It showed us exactly where our weaknesses were at, exactly where we were going to have to get better. I think our kids have done that. I think we've gotten better in the areas that were exposed to us," said Hutchinson.

The Bulldogs will take on New Deal on Saturday night in Snyder at 7:00 p.m.
