A late rally would prove to be the difference for the Stamford Bulldogs as they won the district title over Anson on Friday night.

The Bulldogs would strike first, but the big play would come on defense with an interception by James Washington. The return would set up Stamford with good field position inside Anson territory.

Quarterback Bo Wimberly would quickly take advantage with a touchdown throw to Wes Hutchinson to give Stamfrod a 6-0 lead.

Anson would quickly respond with a long drive, and capped it off with a run by Mitchel Hudson. After the extra point the Tigers would take a 7-6 lead.

The two teams would remain close all the way to the end, but a touchdown run by Wimberly in the closing minutes would prove to be the difference as Stamford picked up a 24-21 victory.
