This week marks the end of the 2014 softball season with the UIL State Tournament in Austin, and two Big Country teams have a chance at bringing home a state title.

The Snyder Lady Tigers punched their ticket to state on Saturday with a sweep over Pampa. It will be the first trip to state for the Lady Tigers, and welcoming them to Red and Charline McCombs Field will be the seventh ranked Lady Vandals of Van. Snyder will kick-start the second day of the state tournament against Van at 9 a.m. on Thursday in Austin.

Hawley will not have to wait as long to take the field. The Lady Bearcats, who fell in the semifinals a year ago, will meet third ranked East Bernard in that round this year. They are scheduled to start at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
