Top 2016 Moments: Anson & Hamlin Stand Out

December 20, 2016 - The look back on some of the top moments from the 2016 football season continues as two standout programs are recognized.

Starting first with the Anson Tigers. Anson made it to the state semifinals for the first time in school history.

Head coach Chris Hagler led his guys on a historic run that was led by seniors Cade Baker and Trell Thompson. The Tigers came up short to Abernathy, but this team was something special.

The Hamlin Pied Pipers were incredibly dominant this season.

Their offense put a ton of points on the board, but the most impressive part was the team's defense. The Pipers only allowed 30 points over eight weeks of play during the middle of the season. Head coach Russell Lucas said early in the year that his guys play tough and are just a special group. Hamlin was put out of the playoffs courtesy of Wellington in the third round.
