Undefeated AHS, Keller meet Tuesday

April 16, 2018 - The Abilene High Eagles are undefeated in district play after eight games, and they play Keller, who they are tied with at the top of District 3-6A in a home and home series starting on Tuesday.

The Indians are ranked 7th in Class 6A, and they are giving up less than a run a game.

On top of that, no one has scored more than two runs on them in a district game.

It's going to be a challenge, but the Eagles say they are ready to roll.

Head Coach Ryan Lewis said, "Our kids mentality will be great, they're not going to change anything, we're not going to change anything. If we keep playing like we've been playing, we've got a chance in all of those games and I feel good about it. It's going to be tough, but we're not going to change what we've done at all at that point and over the next three weeks we all play each other so it ought to be fun. "

Junior Ryan Johnson said, "We're finding ways to get runs, either we're hitting or we're not hitting, we're finding a way, we're always picking each other up, Coach Lewis has made that mentality within our team and that's what we pride ourselves on."

Game one of this home and home series is on Tuesday at 5 p.m. in Keller.

They meet again on Friday afternoon at Blackburn Field at 4:30 p.m.
