War Hawk Invited to KC Rookie Mini-Camp

May 2, 2017 - HOUSTON, Texas - McMurry University's Decorian Johnson (Houston, Texas/Oak Ridge H.S.) - a defensive back, punt return and kickoff return specialist - has been invited to rookie mini-camp with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The three-day rookie mini-camp begins Saturday.

"I just want to thank the entire War Hawk family and especially (Defensive Coordinator) Coach Kendall Roberson for the support and believing in me," Johnson said. "I hope to make everyone proud and take advantage of this opportunity that has been given."

Johnson was first team All-American Southwest Conference and second team all-National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) as a defensive back as a senior. Johnson also earned NCCAA honorable mention accolades as a sophomore.

Johnson led the McM team in total tackles with 58, 43 of which were solo.  Johnson also had a blocked extra point kick and an interception to his credit.

Johnson also returned punts for the War Hawks' team and was No. 2 in the NCCAA at 15.2 yards per punt return, with one returned punt for a touchdown. In 2016, he had four kickoff returns for 14.8 yards per return.
