Wildcat softball relying on experience

February 15th, 2018 - The Wildcat softball team completed their first tournament of the 2018 season this last weekend.

ACU is picked second in the Southland Conference this season, and the Wildcats return 12 starters from last year's 33 win team.

There's a learning curve at the beginning of every season, but ACU is relying on their experience on the field to help them out this year.

"It is a new team but we do have a lot of returners as well that are out there on the field this year again," Peyton Hedrick said.

"It's definitely in your mind that you got second place because it's a bitter taste, it's a great spot to be but you definitely want that first place so we're working this year to really get that first place win and get that conference ring that we've all been wanting and hoping for."

"This team is very diverse, we've got 6 seniors, 1 junior, and a lot of freshmen and sophomores so it's just a matter of them learning to play together well," Bobby Reeves said.

"I think that's something that'll come together. They're a very tight group, they love to play, so I'm excited about what's going to happen."

The Wildcats travel to Florida this weekend to complete in the EMU Madeira beach spring invitational.
