The Stamford Bulldogs are back in the state semifinals for the third straight year. The only thing standing between them and a third straight trip to AT&T Stadium is the Hico Tigers.
The May Tigers are back in the 6-man state title game for the 1st time since 1977, when they won their first and only football championship. This year, the Tigers are going to be the 1st team to ever play a 6-man game on the turf at the Cowboys AT&T Stadium.
It is a quick turn around for Stamford. They played at 3pm on Monday and now play at 3 on Saturday. The Bulldogs face Hico in San Angelo.
The Albany Lions win over Muenster earlier this week pushed the Lions into the state semifinal game for the ninth time in program history, and they say they're excited to be there, but their goal is to keep moving forward and title game. In order to do that they will have to get past the second ranked team in the state, the Wellington Rockets.
The Cisco Loboes are the top ranked team in the state and they are expected to return to the state championship game for the 5th time in the Brent West era.
