J.T. Newton is back on the Players to Watch list for the 2nd straight year. The Senior quarterback's break out game last season came against Breckenridge in the bi-district round of the playoffs.

That wasn't the 1st time Newton put up larger numbers. In fact, as a junior, Newton threw for nearly 2,500 yards and 27 touchdowns.

"We've got one wide receiver coming back that started. We lost like 23 seniors. It's just different, getting to know your receivers, how they run their routs, and know how they catch," said J.T. Newton.

His teammates also say the success of the Dragons likely falls on the shoulders of their returning district MVP.

"He's huge. I mean he's our fastest player. He's one of our strongest [players]. He's a great athlete and he's smart. Smart above anything else, and that helps," said Josh Truelove.

"All I want to do is win games. I mean, I want to have a good throwing season. I just want the receivers to catch well, and I want our team to go further in the playoffs," said Newton.

Needless to say, if the Dragons are going to make a run at district title and deeper into the playoffs, they'll need a big season from Newton. He is a Player to Watch in 2013.
