Kaegan Jeffery burst onto the scene last year as the new starting quarterback at Sweetwater. A sophomore at the time, Jeffery threw for just over two-thousand yards and 19 touchdowns.

This season Jeffery is poised to pass those marks after a lot of work in the off-season and seven on seven.

"I want to throw much touchdowns, have more throwing yards, and be a better leader than I was last year. I'm more experienced, so I'm not as nervous as I was last year," said Kaegan Jeffery.

Last season Jeffery almost led the mustangs back to the postseason. Coming up just short in a game against Monahans that could have sent them to the playoffs.

"Coming back from last year, we were nine minutes away from making the playoffs. The Monahans game we got down in the end, " said Jeffery.

Now Jeffery and the Mustangs are using that nine minutes as motivation to get back to the postseason in 2013.

"All off-season we said 'nine minutes, nine minutes.' Those nine minutes are going to be our motivation to make playoffs this next near," said Jeffery.

If the Mustangs are going back to the playoffs in 2013, they'll need another big year from Jeffery. That makes Kaegan Jeffery a player to watch in 2013.
