The tournament is for both men and women, according to Kirk Hancock, Counselor at Serenity House.
"It's a family atmosphere," he adds. "This whole tournament is about recovery, so we wanted to make sure we created a family friendly atmosphere and environment for everybody involved."
All the action takes place at Diamondback Golf Course, which Hancock describes as "one of the best in Abilene" and for the competitive type, there is good reason to put your best swing forward during this charity tournament.
"We have lots of winners!" says Hancock.
The tournament will be divided up into different flights, which allows for multiple prizes to be divided between multiple winners.
But lets not forget the heart of the tournament, which exists to help raise money for Serenity House in Abilene.
"Serenity house, since 1984, has worked with and given the opportunity to about 28,000 people, and actually probably more than that, to get their lives back on track," says Hancock.
The organization provides rehabilitation services to those recovering from drug and alcohol addictions. Of the funds raised during the charity golf tournament, a majority will be funneled directly into Serenity House, while a small portion will also be donated to similar rehabilitation programs.
"This is a wonderful opportunity to spend a little bit of money and have fun, to come out and play golf and be able to support something that I think a lot of people can support," adds Hancock.
