An Abilene man was arrested Friday night after police say he was driving drunk with two child passengers.

Avel Garcia, 27, was initially pulled over on South 14th after police reports indicate he was going 70 on a 45 mph speed zone. Police say a 5 and a 7-year-old were in the car.

According to the reports, Garcia had bloodshot eyes and smelt like alcohol. Police found a marijuana pipe in his pocket, an open whiskey bottle and flask in the driver's door, and nearly 19 grams of marijuana in the console.

Garcia failed a breathalyzer test and provided samples that were double the legal limit. He was taken to the Taylor County Jail and was booked for State Jail Felony DWI with a Child Passenger and Class B Possession of Marijuana.

He bonded out of jail Saturday night.
