Abilene Public Library Hosts Fun Summer Activities

From arts and crafts to story time, Abilene Public Library has an event for your family...
The Abilene Public Library is known for their family friendly activities and this summer they have plenty of fun to keep the little ones busy.
Jessica Reyes joined us in the KTAB 4u studio to share all about what is in store. Besides explaining the upcoming events, she also shared a craft project for their upcoming "Explore the Pirate Sea" program.
On Tuesday, July 16, the main library branch will present Young Audiences: Storybook Theatre "Goldifox and the Two Hares".
"The countryside won't be quite the same when Goldifox moves in. Come out and see if Golidfox learns a lesson and see whether the Hares gain a new friend," Reyes says.
This interactive show is free and open to all ages. It will be presented in the Main Library Auditorium at 10:45 A.M. and 3:00 P.M.
On Wednesday, July 17, the family fun continues with "Explore the Pirate Sea" at the Mockingbird Library at 4:00 P.M. The event promises a journey under the sea with stories, songs, crafts and more. This event is free and open to all ages.
The library is also hosting an art contest. The public is invited to submit art entries that are related to a book or novel characters. Winners will be displayed in the library's display case. Rules and registration forms are available at all APL locations. Art and registration are due by July 18 at 6 P.M.
