A suspected kidnapper we reported about last year has been arrested again while out on bail.

Witnesses say he chased youngsters in their own yard.

Lafette Battee was taken into custody after an incident that took place last month. According to court documents, a woman noticed a man at her north Abilene home acting strangely.

While her son and his friends were playing in the front yard, Battee allegedly began chasing the children. The woman quickly got the youngsters inside, but not before Battee allegedly got a hold of her.

According to court papers, he began hitting her head against a door and was on top of her in the yard, but two neighbors came to her aid and held Battee down until police arrived.

We have talked to the victim in this case and she says she was just trying to protect her kids, and now that she knows Battee's past, she is glad it did not get any more out of hand than it did.

It was last November that Battee is accused of kidnapping a girl from an Abilene night club and trying to sexually assault her. He was arrested the next day for that crime.
