ACU Defeats McMurry in Season Opener

Saturday night the Abilene Christian Wildcats gave the McMurry War Hawks a harsh welcome to Division Two.

In the first quarter it was the defenses that stole the show. Marked by back to back sacks by Nick Richardson for ACU that caused a McMurry drive to stall. As well as an interception in the end-zone by Ryan Williams for McMurry.

In the second quarter, Mitchell Gale and his duo at running back took over. First it was Charcandrick West to reach pay dirt, and he was soon followed by Travis Tarver II.

The Wildcats ran out to a 14-0 lead at that point, and never looked back; winning Saturday's opener and new Head Coach Ken Collums' first game 51-0.
