The ACU Wildcats are back on the practice field after losing for the 1st time on Saturday night to Illinois State.

The Wildcats game with the Red Birds was their 1st against an NCAA Division I F-C-S team since making the move up from Division II.

Most were wondering how Abilene Christian is going to do at the new level.

As it turns out, they stack up pretty well.

Ken Collums said "We know where we need to go and its just a situation where hey its going to take a little time to put together because there's no, at the FCS level there is no quick fix to that. You have to have a legitimate program, you've got to get guys in here, grow them up, train them up, and get them ready."

Darian Hogg said "Being able to hang with them obviously is a for the team is a huge confidence boost because there's some people who didn't know whether or not we'd be able to hang with them, but for the people who's been here for a while we know what we can do and stuff like that."

The Wildcats are headed to the Metroplex this weekend. They play Tarleton State at Toyota Stadium in Frisco at 4.
