The ACU ladies enter Southland Conference play with a 9-6 record so far this season, and they have 3 wins over NCAA Division 1 opponents, most notably, Texas Tech.

The players entered the new season with an idea of what it was going to take to compete at the highest level, but head coach Julie Goodenough knew for sure.

"Every one on the rosters at these [division] one schools are good at every position. So, it's not just one player on each team you have to beat. You have to beat every single one of them, and I think that competition makes me excited more than anything," said Reneta Marquez.

"Just jumping into our first season of playing in a division one conference. Just a lot of excitement. We're coming off a pretty tough practice today and as Renata said we're all tired, but I think for the most part they're excited to see what the Southland Conference is all about, and see what we have to do to be successful and compete for conference championships in the future," said head coach Julie Goodenough.

The ACU women beat Texas Tech, Jacksonville University, and UT-Arlington for their 3 victories over Division 1 opponents this year. The Wildcats are 3-6 away from Moody Coliseum.
