The Abilene High Eagles are looking to bounce back from a disappointing performance in the their opener last week.

Head coach Steve Warren's team fell behind Hebron early and lost by 30 points to the Hawks.

That is the 1st time in 7 years the Eagles lost the opener of a season.

That fact makes the loss hard to swallow, and they are looking to put in a better performance on Friday against Duncanville.

Head Coach Steve Warren said "Saturday morning right after the loss we came back in the weight room and did really a great job. Really did a great job studying film of what we did right and what we can correct, and so I feel good about going forward about the lessons we'll learn from this last one moving forward."

Senior Receiver Michael Evans said "We're not just representing ourselves, we're representing our town, and so we really come and put forth our effort to improve."

Senior Defensive Back Victor Cooper said "I think it's going to be great. We just got to keep it up, we just got to play different than we played last week. Play more aggressive as a defense, as a unit."

It would be nice if it got easier for the Eagles this week, but that's not the case. They travel to Duncanville to face a Panthers team that scored 70 points in Week 0.
