Albany Falls In Semifinals At State Tournament

The Albany Lions came back to take the lead in the Class A state semifinals on Wednesday, but Ivanhoe Rayburn answered the challenge to post an 8-6 victory.
The Albany Lions came back to take the lead in the Class A state semifinals on Wednesday, but Ivanhoe Rayburn answered the challenge to post an 8-6 victory. The loss ends the Lady Lions season.

Rayburn started the game with 3 runs in the 1st and 1 in the 2nd thanks in large part to errors by Albany.

Albany came right back to retake the lead. The Lady Lions scored 3 runs in the top of the 3rd inning and 5th inning to take a 2 run lead heading to the bottom of the 5th.

The 5th inning is when Rayburn started their come back. The Rebels scored a run in the bottom of the 5th and 3 runs in the 6th to take command.

Rayburn advances to the state finals.

Albany's season is over with a 26-4 record.
