Wednesday night at about 10 p.m., Officers Matthew Clopton and Brady Broyles responded to an injured subject call at a residence in the 1700 block of North 9 Street. APD dispatch had been notified that the calling party’s family member had been stabbed by his girlfriend. Officers arrived and discovered a male victim with a small cut on his neck and nose. A female subject was also contacted at the residence. The preliminary investigation revealed that the couple were in a relationship and had been living together. The couple were involved in an altercation that led to an assault. The knife believed to have been used in the assault was seized. The male victim requested an emergency protective order. The female subject was arrested for aggravated assault (family violence).
Wednesday night at about 11:50 p.m., Officer Sterling Riddle came upon a vehicle that was high-centered on the curb in the 4000 block of Vine Street. Officer Riddle contacted the male driver of the vehicle and also observed an open container of alcohol. Officer Riddle observed that the driver displayed indicators of intoxication. The driver conducted standard field sobriety tests which he conducted poorly. The driver was arrested and taken to county jail where the driver provided samples of his breath. Breath samples taken showed the driver’s BAC to be 0.213 and 0.209. The driver was arrested for the enhanced misdemeanor (Class A) offense of DWI with Open Container.
