APD: Man Passed Out at Gas Pump Found with Drugs

A man was found holding drugs after police checked on him in response to a call from a concerned citizen claiming the man was passed out in his car by a gas pump.

Tuesday afternoon at about 5:30 p.m. Officer Cody Brown responded to a burglary call at a residence in the 400 block of Larkin Street. APD had been contacted by a victim who alleged his gun had been stolen from his pickup truck. Officer Brown’s investigation revealed that the gun is believed to have been stolen while the vehicle was parked at a business in the 4200 block of Bull Harris Drive. The victim believed the crime occurred during the previous week. The theft of a firearm is felony offense. A report for Theft was taken. This investigation continues.

Tuesday evening at about 8:50 p.m., Officer Dan Henning responded to a theft call that had just occurred at a residence in the 4300 block of Caldwell Road. The calling party informed APD that he believed that his live animal trap had been stolen by a known neighbor. Officer Henning contacted the involved parties. The investigation revealed that the victim’s live trap was taken from underneath the victim’s porch. Officer Henning contacted the alleged male suspect who told Officer Henning that he had stolen the trap from underneath the victim’s home. The trap was recovered and valued at approximately $75.00. The suspect was arrested for misdemeanor Theft.

Wednesday morning at about 12:50 a.m., Officers James Davis and Kevin Pyeatt responded to an injured subject call at a business in the 1300 block of South 14 Street. A concerned citizen contacted APD about a male subject whom he characterized as past-out inside a vehicle next to a gasoline pump. Fire Department personnel also responded to the scene. The occupant of the vehicle was contacted and breathing. Officer Pyeatt’s investigation revealed that the subject had a baggie in his lap, another in his seat and a used syringe in the passenger seat. The baggies contained a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine. Approximately 0.6 grams of methamphetamine was seized. The subject was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for felony Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine).
