Michael Bacon is leaving Abilene Christian High School to become a graduate assistant at Abilene Christian University.

Bacon made the announcement on his facebook page on Monday night that he was resigning as ACHS basketball coach.

"It's been a crazy and bittersweet couple of days. Officially beginning in August, I will be a Graduate Assistant Coach with the Men's Basketball Program at ACU, ending my time at Abilene Christian HS. It was not an easy decision at all, and I can't begin to express how grateful I am to our players over the last two years that put me in a position to have this opportunity. The chance to coach at ACU and at the Division 1 level is a dream come true. Feeling extremely blessed," said Bacon on his facebook page.

He was the head basketball coach at ACHS for the past two seasons.

During Bacon's time at ACHS, the Panthers won a TAPS state title in 2011, and reached the semifinals this past season.
