Brownwood And Bangs Advance To Championship Bracket In 7-on-7

The Brownwood Lions and Bangs Dragons are still alive for the Division II state championship after going a combined 5-1 in pool play.

Brownwood rolled to a perfect 3-0 record on Thursday in Leander. The Lions averaged 36 points a game in victories over Anna, Mexia, and Houston Episcopal. They will face Lorena in the 1st round of the Championship round.

Bangs started slowly with a loss to pool winner College Station in the 1st game. The Dragons rebounded in the next 2 games to post victories. They beat Crandall by 2 points and Yoakum by 8 points to earn a place in the Championship round. Bangs plays Dallas Episcopal Friday morning at 9am.

The Wylie Bulldogs, Eastland Mavericks, and Coleman Bluecats stuggled in pool play on Thursday. Wylie and Eastland were winless, and Coleman was 1-2. All 3 will play in the Consolation Bracket starting tomorrow morning at 8am.
