Brownwood Glad To Get 1st Win

Head coach Chuck Howard and his Brownwood Lions picked up their 1st win of the season last week with a thrilling 46-43 victory over Snyder.
The Brownwood Lions are getting ready to head up to Abilene on Friday night to take on Wylie in a Class 3A game.

Head coach Chuck Howard and his guys picked up their 1st win of the season last week with a thrilling 46-43 victory over Snyder.

It's been a struggle so far this season for the team, but Coach Howard says winning helps eliminate any doubt the team might have had prior to last Friday night.

Coach Howard said,"We were 0-2 coming into this game, and it was obvious the win did a lot for our confidence.  I think our kids, in the 2nd half, played extremely well. The played with a lot of emotion and intensity and hopefully found some confidence."

The player said, "It means a lot. Of course, the 1st win is like the biggest one of the year. It's nice to get that first big win. It helps the rest of the season just roll on."

Coach Howard added, "We turn around and play an exceptionally good Abilene Wylie team, and we have got to raise it to another level if we are going to have a chance to compete with Wylie."

The Lions are coming to Abilene to take on the Wylie Bulldogs. Wylie has won 4 of the last 5 meetings between the 2 schools. They kick off at 7:30.
