Preparing college is extremely important for high school students, that's why Brownwood High School is implementing a new program to make college easier for their graduates. Ranger College and Brownwood High School are starting an associates program. Students will be able to take dual courses through Ranger to achieve their associates degree when they graduate from high school. The students will have to complete sixty hours. The program will help students get ahead but will also cost cheaper than a regular university. The students will only have to pay for the courses they take. The program is extremely rigorous. Students start after their sophomore year. They will take class every summer. The program won't start until the spring when registrations begins. This will give parents and students time to figure out what is the best decision for them. Brownwood High School is already in talks of furthering the program by offering classes to specific majors. However, they predict it will be a couple of years before they will be able to do so.
