A landmark to Brownwood almost had to say goodbye after 58 years of business. The doors closed for Gomez restaurant back on September 22, but the grandsons of the owner, Sarah Gomez, have taken over and will reopening the restaurant. It wasn't a hard decision for them to decide to purchase the restaurant. The new owners are all cousins and wanted to see the restaurant stay within the family. All of them have worked there at one point. The restaurant is what they know and love. The entire family was there all day preparing for the grand opening. The kitchen was hot and ready this morning. The menu will stay the same, changes may come later. One change that is new are their hours of operation. They won't be open Monday and Tuesday. However, Friday and Saturday they will stay open until 2 A.M. The whole family is happy to be back and appreciate all the support from the Brownwood community.
